I'm not going to give you the textbook definition of what research is, not only because your presence on this website indicates your accessibility to Google or any other search engine, but also because it's a definition that you come to mold personally, as I've come to understand :) To me, research is a way to systemically answer questions and explore your curiosities! Research doesn't discriminate among the fields of study; you can find yourself conducting research in any discipline, as long as it serves the purpose of satisfying your inquisitive thoughts. It's also a platform for constant growth on the intellectual level, where you can find yourself networking with your peers and mentors in and out of your brainy zone.

It's really an amazing thing research, but naturally, there are struggles that you'll face in asking all these questions, hoping to find the exact answers you had set your mind on finding. I can confidently say that you'll find yourself frustrated more often than not, with the results that you yield or the tweaks and changes you might have to apply on a project that you've been working on for God knows how long!

Believe me, this is all very natural!

That's why it's important to understand that in many ways, you go where the research takes you. Just because you don't get the exact answer you were expecting doesn't mean that more questions can't arise from these adversities. Think of it as a detour, of sorts. These new questions could lead you to your answer, sometimes in a roundabout way, or it could lead you in a new and exciting direction. Either way, it's important to take a step back and keep an open mind, otherwise, all the questions and opportunities along the way, may just fly over your head!
